I enjoyed visiting the city of Winnipeg because of the friendly communities and all of the great things to do and see. After a great day of sight seeing I enjoyed some of the best dining experiences I ever had.
Some of the top attractions I visited in the city of Winnipeg, MB included the Manitoba Museum, Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, Exchange District Guided Walking Tour, Manitoba Legislative Building, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Royal Canadian Mint and Grand Beach Provincial Park. I would definitely recommend visiting the Manitoba Museum in Winnipeg. It gives a beautiful look at Manitoba and a great view of our universe in its planetarium. Nature lovers like myself would love the diverse sculptures that fill out the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden.
The communities in Winnipeg are very well kept and some are even gated. Some of the beautiful communities I visited were Catherine Place, Manoir de la Cathedrale Manor, Fred Douglas Society and The Wellington. The Wellington is a great gated community that well manicured neighborhoods and great parks that have areas for dogs and biking pathways. Catherine Place is an upscale neighborhood that is near the beach. There are not that many parks but there are shaded areas near the beach. There are some great café's right outside of the community that have open mic and karaoke nights.
I really enjoyed eating at Earl's Restaurant in Winnipeg. The food and drinks were really tasty, and I also loved the atmosphere and the large patio. I had the best steak at The Keg Steakhouse & Bar. They have almost all of the top brand name beers on tap and have great specials with happy hour. A great sports bar is Bailey's Restaurant Bar. They have six separate rooms with flat screen televisions to view different teams on. They are well known for having the tastiest wings and tender steaks. Other great places to eat in Winnipeg are Edohei Sushi & Japanese Restaurant, Baked Expectations and Tre Vsi Restaurant.
Winnipeg has some great clubs that played great music and atmosphere. Whiskey Dix has live bands each day of the week and they play different types of music. Depending on the day of the week, there are bands that play alternative rock, hardcore rock, country and R AND B. Other great night clubs are Palomino Club, Granite Curling Club and the Pyramid Cabaret. I went to the Rumor's Restaurant & Comedy Club. They had four amateur comedians perform that night and they were very funny. The club has great drinks that are not overpriced or watered down, like most other clubs do. Most comedy clubs only offer appetizers, but his restaurant offers salads, entrees and desserts.
Polo Park Shopping Centre, Portage Place Shopping Centre, St Vital Centre and Grant Park Shopping Centre are the great shopping centers in Winnipeg. Grant Park was my favourite and had the best stores of the four shopping centers. With stores like Barnes and Nobles, Coach, Banana Republic and Shoe Republic, Grant Park was easily an all day trip.
